Every patient, and provider in this room has changed my life in ways that I am eternally grateful for. Each and everyone in this room has changed the course of OCD and Mental Health and has shown me that OCD doesn’t define me or my life. Everyone in this room is family.
Thank you so much for all your care, wisdom and support. And I truly mean it, this place has changed my life. With every moment of every day here, I’ve felt like I’ve gotten a small piece of my life back. Everyone in this room has enough brilliance, talent, and courage, to change the course of mental health discussions forever…

Although I’ve only been here for about 6 weeks, I’m leaving, a stronger, healthier, and more educated person. Every Residential Counselor, staff member, and resident from when I first got here to now, has shown me that OCD is not who we are, nor does it limit who we can become, it’s just a pain in the ass. Thank you.

Past Resident, 2021

I came to the McLean OCD Institute // Houston looking for answers. They were my last resort, after trying numerous therapists and treatments. I could not be more pleased with the care I received here. Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly and professional. My therapist put me at ease. They tailored a program that worked for me. They know everyone doesn’t fit into a template for treatment, and they work hard to find what works for an individual. They are the most professionally trained mental health experts I’ve ever encountered. There is an excellent balance of support, encouragement, and steadfast commitment to helping you learn the tools you need to significantly improve your life. When all else failed for me, the staff at McLean OCD Institute // Houston was there, I was willing to put in the work, and we found a path that has significantly improved my life. If you’re on the fence, or anxious, please give this group a call! It will change your life!

The McLean OCD Institute // Houston was invaluable to me in my recovery.  I had been dealing with anxiety and OCD for over a decade, and been to numerous therapists and psychiatrists.  The program was definitely one of the most useful treatments I have received.  My whole view on my illness has changed.  I have gone from habitually avoiding and procrastinating to wanting to face my problems head on and not let them run my life.  The McLean OCD Institute // Houston teaches you what you need to know not just to get better, but to stay better.  You can get your life back.  Seriously.  If you are dealing with serious OCD and/or anxiety and other methods have not helped, I highly recommend their programs.  It’s hard work, but it absolutely beats the alternative of staying sick.  The staff are all fun, nice, and interesting, and they will be there for you all along the way.  The McLean OCD Institute // Houston will change your life for the better.  It definitely did for me.

Life changing, made me open up my eyes and learn a great deal about  myself than ever before. They aren’t going to do the work for you but if you are willing to stick with it and give it your all, you will come out on top with the tools to succeed in the game of life.

The McLean OCD Institute // Houston is there to educate, guide, assist, and motivate you to battle your OCD. You’ve really got to push hard, but you CAN do it and once you do, you will find so much freedom, joy, and serenity in your life.

Going to treatment at the McLean OCD Institute // Houston was the most challenging and yet best decision I have ever made for myself. The staff was extremely supportive and I left well educated about OCD and how to manage my symptoms.

Before I entered the program I was not able to function around my house or anywhere. My days were consumed with washing and cleaning. It was hopeless. I couldn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. But, with God’s help and the McLean OCD Institute // Houston’s help, I am now able to function at my house and in public. Thank you all.

The McLean OCD Institute // Houston was of great benefit to me in that I was able to take large strides in reclaiming part of my life that before was lost due to OCD. I had suffered with severe OCD for over a year with contamination fears and rituals taking a large part of my time. Through seven weeks of hard work and with the leadership of expert staff who make up The McLean OCD Institute // Houston, I was able to make drastic improvement in the severity of my OCD symptoms. There is still some work to do but I am very capable now, using the tools that I learned from the program, to get my life back and make it even better. I appreciate the entire staff at the McLean OCD Institute // Houston for helping me through a difficult illness, so to them I say thanks.

I was with the team when they were at Menninger and when they closed their doors. I’ve had OCD for the last 12 years of my life and before I went into treatment it had literally taken over every aspect of my life. Every move I made was consumed by OCD. The monster made me suffer with rechecking, reassurance seeking, confessions, contamination fears, sexual obsessions, hit and run fears and pretty much everything but hoarding and scrupulosity. It was extremely hard work, but I can now say I have a life back, when before I wasn’t even sure if I’d be living. They taught me the tools to live my life and keep my OCD manageable. The staff was truly amazing and literally saved my life. Although they will say that it was me who did the hard work, without their caring and kind hearts I would never have been able to do it.

I benefited very much from the program. My therapist was just outstanding, and Saharah was also very professional, kind, and accommodating. The whole staff really cared about me and my progress. I felt like the exposure therapy was the key to my improvement along with learning ways to cope with my worry cycle and anxieties. In short, I thought it was a great and caring program, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others, or to return there myself if ever the need would arise.

I would like to thank each and every one of you for all your hard work and support. This has been a life changing experience for me, and I will always remember the hard times and, even more so, the good times. For the first time in as long as I can remember, the good actually outweighs the bad. I will never forget any of you, and you all will always hold a place in my heart. Again, thank you so much for helping me face my fears and giving me the tools and confidence to get my life back.

I want to dedicate this song to the McLean OCD Institute // Houston. Those cats saved my life. Without all of you, I don’t know where I would be right now.

The McLean OCD Institute // Houston is an incredible resource for anyone struggling with OCD. If you have made a decision to really commit to treatment and doing whatever it takes to get better, this is the place to be. The structure of the program gives you time to devote to facing your fears, and the patients around you really inspire you to push through the exposures. The staff is great at seeing how your OCD is playing out. You have to be ready, but if you are, it’s fantastic!

Kristin, Texas

For people who have OCD or another anxiety disorder, there is hope! Before I started the McLean OCD Institute // Houston, my severe OCD caused me not to do much outside my house. I thought I was the only one out there and did not speak about my problem for a long time until now. The treatment program enabled me to get out and not isolate myself. The program taught me to let the fear go and just move on. I strongly recommend the McLean OCD Institute // Houston to anybody with an anxiety disorder or OCD who wants their life back!

Matt, Texas

The program is very sound and practical. The staff couldn’t be any more supportive and helpful. They, one and all, treat you in a very warm and respectful way. I would recommend the program to anyone who has tried outpatient therapy and has not progressed in a satisfactory way.
