Hey y’all! My name is Kimberly Simmons, but due to an influx of “Kims” in the workplace I go by Bianca (my middle name). I knew I wanted to help people for as long as I can remember, but I learned I wanted to be a therapist when I took my Introduction to Psychology course freshman year as an undergrad. Fast-forward to the present day and I have gained more clinical experience than I could have ever dreamed of when I was younger. I recently celebrated my 3 year work anniversary at the Houston OCD program. During that time, I have been able to gain an extensive amount of experience treating individuals with varying levels of severity with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, OC-spectrum disorders, other anxiety related disorders, and depression. I have enjoyed working with social anxiety and the creativity that is involved when coming up with ideas for exposures for the many different types of OCD that exist the most. My ultimate professional goal is to decrease the negative stigma regarding mental health, especially within the under-represented minority communities.
