What is the process for admission?
A brief phone intake assessment is conducted with each client prior to admission. Additional records and/or discussion with current treatment providers may also occur for admission and in order to better prepare the McLean OCD Institute // Houston’s treatment team. If accepted, admission details will be coordinated directly with the guardian.
How much do you charge for your Adolescent intensive Outpatient Program?
Our Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program is an individualized program designed for each patient. The quantity of individual sessions recommended per week will be determined with one’s behavioral therapist and family therapy with our family therapist. Costs will be determined based on quantity of services.
Do you accept insurance?
McLean OCD Institute // Houston is a self-pay treatment program, we do not accept payment from third party providers (e.g. insurance or loan companies). Families can file independently with their insurance for out-of-network coverage with a superbill provided by the clinic. Families can contract with SJ Health Insurance Advocates, who can assist families, for a fee, in receiving reimbursement from their insurance companies. We cannot guarantee reimbursement, but SJ Health Insurance Advocates will assist you in accessing what reimbursement is available. What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, check, or credit cards are appreciated at the time of service. Clients are responsible for all fees.
How long do your intensive programs last?
The estimated length of treatment at the outset is approximately 4 to 6 weeks. Individuals with more severe symptoms may require a longer treatment program; whereas individuals with more mild or moderate symptoms may require less time in treatment. We do our best to assess each individual as quickly as possible upon admission to the program so that we can provide a realistic estimate early on in the process.
What kind of follow-up do you offer for those who complete your intensive programs?
Once an individual has completed the program, there are several options for follow-up care. Individuals in the Houston area can step-down into our outpatient level of care, or we can work in conjunction with previous treatment providers to assist in continuity of care. There are also many individuals who benefit from returning for a shorter treatment term, or a booster session in the future, in order to continue to maintain the gains achieved in his/her original treatment stay.
Who is not an appropriate fit for your intensive programs?
Our intensive treatment programs are not appropriate for individuals who have active addictions, active eating disorders, and/or are actively suicidal. Individuals may need to receive treatment for these conditions elsewhere prior to engaging in our programs. For those individuals who have received treatment for these conditions (i.e., are in recovery) and would like some continued support during their anxiety treatment, we have the ability to work with additional outpatient specialists (e.g., addictions counselors, eating disorder specialists) as needed.
Where are you located?
The Outpatient Clinic/Administrative offices of the McLean OCD Institute // Houston are located at 708 E. 19th St., Building B. You will see a large, yellow Mediterranean style home in the front. The OP clinic is directly behind the large house. Please do not go to the house (706 E 19th/Building A), instead please go to the office behind the house (708 E 19th/Building B).
