Dr. Garvin is the chief psychiatrist for the Houston OCD Program, and an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Menninger Department of Psychiatry, Baylor College of Medicine.  He is double board certified in Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  Additionally, he has provided intensive psychotherapy and medication management for adults, adolescents, and children for over 12 years.  He graduated medical school from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, and completed his psychiatry residency and fellowship training at the Menninger Department of Psychiatry, Baylor College of Medicine.

As a psychiatry resident Dr. Garvin completed a 3-month rotation on the inpatient unit at The Menninger OCD Treatment Program in 2001 in Topeka, KS.  Since then he has maintained a strong interest in OCD and other anxiety disorders, and continued to provide evidence-based collaborative care and treatment with other community therapists.  With the Houston OCD Program he brings a strong understanding of how medications for OCD/Anxiety disorders are best utilized to help make ERP therapy as effective as possible.
